      Steve D Great cast, solid story, clunky script. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/22/24 Full Review Jack S A fine cast certainly has the goods to produce a classic follow-up to Preston Sturges' "The Lady Eve". However, they simply don't have the inspiration or, Sturges' famous style and wit to pull it off effectively. Tierney (never lovelier here) is fine in this otherwise ordinary romantic comedy. But, Fonda simply isn't able to generate those endearing qualities that made him such a likable hit in "Eve". Henry Fonda and Gene Tierney give amazing performances. The screenplay is good but a little slow in places. Rouben Mamoulian did a great job directing this movie.
