alec b Painfully long with subpar acting, poor filming, over-dramatization and slow points of action. "Salem Witch Trials" is incredibly accurate to history's witch hysteria in Salem, though I suspect only the academics and history-fans will make it through all 3 hours of this made-for-TV special. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This "movie" feels more like a soap opera, than a four part movie. For instance when Scientology cult member Kirsty Alley (Talk about hypocrisy!) asks her husband for another baby, it's just seems so overly acted, overly dramatic, and overly unrealistic! Married people screw regardless if they are trying to conceive. Infant mortality in this era was terrible. Only 1 in 4 babies survived to adulthood! This is because there were no antibiotics, OB-GYN's or vaccines! (All antivaccine morons should learn about pregnancy and giving birth in this era. ) Also I don't think people would jump to the conclusion that witchcraft was to blame for a still born baby, given how common it was back then. Also injecting modern human behavior in a period piece movie is glaringly obvious and very annoying. The black/mulatto woman is much too pretty. I'd bet the farm the real lady wasn't model pretty like the actress portraying her. I hate how Hollywood casts nearly every leading part with perfect looking people. Have you ever seen pictures of people from the 1800's? Yeah, not a pretty sight. Lastly if you enjoy listening to a bunch of airhead teenage girls screaming in hysterics, then you will love this! These girls remind me of today's rich, spoiled, millennial, co-eds. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member good historical pic based on actual events from the 17th century. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member A decent representation of the tale we all know. If you need a new reason to think religion is retarded.. here it is. The run time is the most grueling part... @ 191 mins, it will certainly blow ur evening. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member I just couldn't get into this, despite the fascinating subject matter. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member A film with so much potential but poorly executed. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
