Christopher P A plane ends up in orbit, the space shuttle makes at least 3 launches in less than 24 hours, but the most unrealistic thing about this movie is how calm and collected everyone is even after witnessing TWO failed rescue attempts that cost the lives of 6 of their fellow passengers! Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/28/22 Full Review Audience Member As a child I recall renting this from a video store and really enjoying it, especially as the similar HOTOL spaceplane was often in the news at the time. It bears a lot of similarities to a 1996 novel "Sabre" by UK author James Follett. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Ok I will not watch this movie to boring sorry, and it's too old freshened! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member So bad. So so bad. There are points where even the cast looks like "Why am I here?" Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member From the writer of "Escape to Witch Mountain" and the director of "Gomer Pyle" and "Walker, Texas Ranger" comes an awfully forgettable Airport disaster film ripoff. I'd dismiss the film as TV movie quality, but it actually was a TV movie and features TV stars like Lee "Six Million Dollar Man" Majors and Hal "Barney Miller" Linden. And like most disaster films of this time, there was the usual mix of famous stars of the past (Ray Milland, Robert Webber, Jocelyn Brando [sister of Marlon in her final film appearance]) and familiar faces of the moment (Lauren Hutton, Tess Harper, Terry Kiser, Gail Strickland, George DiCenzo, and Heather McAdam). The story here involves the first "hypersonic" passenger airplane, but something goes wrong (Titanic style) on it's maiden voyage. Corny, even by 70s disaster film standards. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member The first hypersonic plane for commercial flight lifts off only to wind up in space. Rescue attempts fail until Lee Majors guides it back into the earth's atmosphere with space shuttle Columbia's help. Million to one odds. A triumph for NASA. Matt Brunson Film Frenzy A silly premise is handled fairly well, and it's certainly superior to the limp Airport 1975 and the godawful The Concorde ... Airport '79. Rated: 2.5/4 Apr 9, 2022 Full Review Diego Galán El Pais (Spain) The movie's only pretension is to create a spectacle of immediate consumption that is largely forgettable.
