Even if the movie surf on news & clichà (C), there is is an efficient storyline which recall me a lot Crash. P. Elbe sign his first movie with a great direction & cast.

I found this to be a fairly compelling drama about life in the banlieu. The grim aspects of the suburban French culture were certainly depicted, such as the violence, the clashes with the police, and the code of silence, but the movie also presented sympathetic portrayals of the boy Bora and his mother, who was an immigrant and single mother struggling to get by. The main story involving matters of conscience, culpability, and heroism gave the movie an interesting level of complexity, and although I am not sure how I felt about the ending, I definitely found this to be an interesting film.

This movie is about the riots in a Paris ghetto (they call it suburbs) and the effect it has on a doctor, a cop, and the family of a youngster who threw a molotov cocktail. There are plenty of good intentions but the movie remains flat and sleep-inducing.
