Audience Member This is a dull, plodding cop drama about a cop who's having psychic visions of victims. The script is kind of muddy -- are his visions of already dead girls, or girls who are about to be dead, or both? Either way it doesn't really help the cop do much, so that plot element doesn't really pay off the way you'd expect it to. The same things sort of happen over and over without really going anywhere, and then near the end there's an unintentionally funny moment with a deranged lunatic killer. It doesn't really fulfill its own potential. Great camera work and framing, gory special effects and lighting, but the tension is just too light. Instead of a slowly building sustained tension there's sporadic little moments of tension that close too predictably. Plenty of chronically overused B-tropes and cliches, if you like that sort of thing. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member This was really a catastrophic film! It was a typical is it a dream is it not a dream films with awful acting and an awfully boring plot. It surprises me how these films actually get made, they must know it's awful when they read the script! If you expect anything near a horror the only real elements are near the beginning in a slasher sort of fashion the majority of the film is spent in a police station listening to useless ongoings. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member This film is a mess, but a fascinating and intriguing mess. I really liked the premise of a cop being able to see the victims of a serial killer and also trying to find the killer. This film definitely could have used more time in the oven though, since the plot sometimes meanders and gets confusing, while the acting and dialogue are also somewhat hit-or-miss. However, I got a kick out of watching this strange mess unfold and I had a lot of fun with it. I certainly don't think it deserves the harsh response it has on this site. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member A pretty standard serial killer flick that shows its low budget colours throughout. The "second sight" addition to the story is nothing new and really doesn't add anything to the picture. Though it is clearly the hook, the film could have probably done without it. The most notable thing and possible the only aspect truly worth talking about is the somewhat over the top but very entertaining performance from Richard Tyson as the serial killer. Though clearly over acted, it somehow works extremely well for the character. If only the rest of the cast and crew had put in the same quality of work, Fear Chamber might have been a worthwhile film. As it is, Fear Chamber isn't really about a chamber and it's not all that fear filled. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Confusing story and uninteresting characters. The plot doesn't seem to go anywhere much and the tension never reaches a high point. It's just a steady slow-flowing film with the usual bland ending.
