It captures the feel of the short story perfectly, and it has that grim look you'd expect from a Poe story. James Mason's reading is also wonderful. If you are a fan of Poe or unique animation, definitely give this short a look. You should all know the story by now so I won't go over it again here. The animation was really good and captured the dark, paranoid tone of the story perfectly. Ditto for the narration. Yeah... Not much else to say about this one. Watch it, it's only 7.5 minutes long. The animation, while dark & one would assume fitting for the storyline, is perhaps the worst part. It doesn't do the characters or the story any justice to look so lame. Still, it is Edgar Allen Poe & one of his greatest works of horror! It is also interesting to note that this was, supposedly, rated X in Great Britain when it was initially released in 1953.
