James Mudge easternKicks.com Despite the dearth of originality, it's an efficient, harmless piece of supernatural fun, and anyone looking for an old fashioned Asian ghost flick could probably do worse. Cyn M A bit minimal maybe, but i really enjoyed the creepy mystery of it and the slow reveal. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/19/24 Full Review Sky I I think it's a good story. It's not predictable and it has a surprising ending. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/16/22 Full Review Audience Member So Creative and Interesting Storytelling! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member A good time waster, or something to run in the background if you like horror movie white noise. However, in terms of quality, it's sorely lacking. At first you think it's a found footage movie, but half of it isn't in found footage format, which is already confusing. Then you've got this weird timeline thing happening which makes it even MORE confusing, and you're left trying to wrap your brain around the story and make sense of it. It's like no one could agree on what kind of horror movie to make. As if that weren't bad enough, the scares aren't even good. They use common tropes, and they're not done well. The ghost is stereotypical; it's got that 'long black hair and white dress' thing we're all too familiar with. The way it acts is not scary, either. It'll either: hang out not doing anything, stand creepily (also not doing anything), scream with that oh-so-recognizable wide mouth scream, or make objects move to freak out the protagonists...and do the actual killing later. You see its hands creep over people's shoulders a lot, which gets old immediately. The ghost's death, while horrendous, doesn't really explain why the ghost wants to kill everyone, so I can't take it seriously on the motive, either. It's like the creators watched a few horror movies, and then decided that that makes them horror experts. In the end, this movie leaves you confused, disappointed, and despondent. This movie is a mess. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Was good, Taiwan makes some good, tense horror stuff. Be it games or movies, their supernatural and occult fascination makes it pretty creepy and unpredictable which makes you want to change volume on your screen to avoid the unknown. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Begins with an interesting hand held camera style but the style soon feels superfluous and, as it constantly switches camera style and jumps from character to character - none of whom you really get to know, it feels more like a collection of undirected horror clichés. Gets a bit more interesting towards the end if you have the patience to stick out the first three quarters. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews
