dasha p If you like the nostalgia of a small Christian town in the 80s/90s, then you'll probably like this. Granted, it is tied pretty tightly to its morality and messages, making you feel more like you're in a Sunday service of said small town, rather than an actual adventure. But I grew up with this film, and it was and still is very signficant to me. Some might say it's boring or slow-moving, but I watched it as a kid and thought it was just as entertaining as something like Homeward Bound. If nothing else, I highly recommend you watch this with friends to make fun of it, because it's as cheesy as the dairy-themed name would lead you to suspect. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review ashley m If I were to re-watch this movie as an adult, I know I would think the plot was implausible and the acting was terrible, but it deeply impacted me as a kid. I watched it over and over again and it will always have a special place in my heart. Also it will always be a memento of what it was like to grow up in a small town in the 90's - biking everywhere, no internet or cell phones, lots of time spent playing outdoors. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Pete went from Elkridge, Utah to a gang infested 90's Chi-raq and took over a gang. Let that sink in. It's the inspirational tale of lost innocence and of a friendship that stands the grips of life's best and worst. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Lesley E This is without a doubt the WORST film ever made. Like seriously, why waste thousands of dollars just to make a piece of tripe like this. And 66% approval rating, is that a joke??!! The 1st thing that'll catch your attention in this film is the dialogue. It's rigid, ridiculous, and so over the top friendly, it's laughable. Also the dubbing in this film is INSANELY BAD. There are scenes in which people's mouths have stopped moving, but there's still audio coming out, RIDICULOUS! Also the kids refer to Mrs. Jenkins as "the widow Jenkins"..... Lmfao! Like seriously, who calls someone that??! (So for example; instead of saying "Mrs. Jenkins has fallen" the kids actually say: "The widow Jenkins has fallen down". WHO TALKS LIKE THIS??!!) Wouldn't it make much more sense to just call her "Mrs. Jenkins"??! Another scene that didn't make sense (and REALLY bugged me) was when "the widow Jenkins" falls down, the little girl runs like nearly 4 miles JUST to tell the boys that "the widow Jenkins" has fallen when she could've easily just called the cops or an ambulance and save all that time. The boys are no better, instead of calling the cops or an ambulance, they decide to hop on their bikes and ride 4 miles back to "the widow Jenkins" house JUST to assist her. This is the part where you truly have to suspend ALL your disbelief, because you now have to imagine that the poor "widow Jenkins" had been laying on the ground for what could've been an hour just to be saved by the boys who could've done the responsible thing and called an ambulance! Also why wouldn't "the widow Jenkins" have a carer/nurse to look after her, because this wouldn't be the only time she falls down in this movie, only to have the boys come pick her up off the floor. It's just too ridiculous! I could go on....but there's WAY too much wrong with this movie....in fact I could probably find something wrong with this film with each frame. Final verdict: ZERO stars, but since I can't give zero, a half star would have to suffice. (Seriously though, only watch this film if you haven't seen a movie in a REALLY long time or if you've been in extreme lockdown for months with no internet, no cable, no satellite TV, just you a DVD player, and a tv set....) Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/21/20 Full Review joel h Even though this was a favorite of many kids when I was younger, I never saw it. I just watched it for the first time as an adult and it was a little tedious. This feels like a 30-minute short that was stretched out and watered down into a feature-length film. It does have a good message, though, and I did connect emotionally with the movie at the end. It was just a long ride to get there.
