Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/24/23 Full Review Craig B I saw this come up in my To Watch list and the premise sounded familiar…based on H.P. Lovecraft's ‘Color Out of Space'. I have to say the more recent version (called ‘Color Out of Space') with Nicholas Cage in the lead (as bonkers as Cage gets!) is a far superior, more entertaining and understandably, given its age, spectacularly visual version. In short, forget this dud with the Wheaton kids (Wil plus his little sister Amy) and go with the Gonzo Cage version. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/28/23 Full Review divyansh p This is the best Color Out of Space adaptation, and probably the best Lovecraft adaptation as of 2022 in my opinion. Atmospheric, creepy, and well-paced, I'm not sure why this film isn't more popular. Must watch for horror and Lovecraft fans! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member "There's nothing wrong with the water. It's the same water we've been drinking for days." Lovecraft inspired the plot where we find of a very strange meteorite crashing into the yard of a Tennessee farmhouse; officials tell the family it's really airplane discharge (like Joe Dirt). The space-travelling rock infects the ground water which causes the crops to grow very well, but taste horribly; the farm animals also get spooked and become violent. Will Wheaton attempts to warn his abusive step-dad (Claud Aiken) of this, but his warnings are not heeded. When the mother is affected, the step-father treats it as a possession even though she kills a visitor. The TVA find a yet undiscovered element altering molecular structure as they are researching the location of a possible reservoir. Strange balance of soundtrack music and not great on visuals, just watch "Color Out of Space" for your "The Colour Out of Space" fix. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Oof! Save me... That was bad. And not even fun bad. I had a hard time even keeping my eyes open. This has to be the worst "Lovecraft" movie... And is it just me, or is Wesley Crusher just always such a goddamn weenie, it's hard to not want to give him a wedgie... Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
