Audience Member Well, its like a soap-opery thing that is so hackneyed and dated at this point it is actually painful to watch. It us interesting to see Elizabeth Taylor's outrageous figure in 1953. Watch in the middle to see that, say wow! And then turn it off before you get nauseous. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Not well done. Taylor messes up her part, and Powell is not given much to work with. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Fun to see William Powell in his "father" role. Still plays a good drunk in a couple of scenes. Elizabeth Taylor is gorgeous. Far from the best picture for either star. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Not bad, but the 60+ minute run time makes the film feel rushed. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Elizabeth Taylor is a bored rich girl daughter of high powered lawyer, William Powell (in his third to last film appearance), who falls for Powell's latest client, gambling kingpin Fernando Lamas (father of Lorenzo Lamas). It's a pretty dull story, but there's a good cast, which also includes Gig Young and James Whitmore, who are more than capable of carrying the film along. André Previn also provides the film a nice score. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member A very tedious hour and nine minutes. Everyone is just going through the motions here.
