Audience Member This is a devotional movie about the life of a major Telugu song writer who lived in fifteenth century India: Annamayya, also known as Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya. He wrote many, many songs of devotion, with 12,000 of his compositions still surviving. He was an early person to protest the social stigma of untouchability and some of his writings apparently maintain that the relationship between God and man is not affected by color caste or financial status. This narrative takes us from his incarnation from the sword of the God to his salvation and being absorbed back into the God, through many side paths, including being married to two women, having all his works burned, etc. We see the God stepping in from time to time to get his life back on the right path. It's a fascinating story if you like this sort of devotional tale. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews
