David W How can a movie that's ripping off The Terminator and Universal Soldier be this terrible? Hell the theme tune even rips off the original Predator. Everything from the script (what there is of one), direction (Ed Wood lives), amateur dramatic quality acting, Windows '95 special effects etc etc are bloody awful. Truly one of the VERY worst movies I've seen in many a year and that ending is unintentionally hilarious. Ray Harryhausen was doing much more convincing animation with stop motion clay in the 1950's. The film totally lacks any sense of drama and fails spectacularly on every conceivable level. I've taken one for the team and watched this garbage so you don't have to.. You're welcome. Then the audio is incredibly bad. The writing is sooo generic. Actors don't even know how to hold a M16. I mean it is impressive that they could pull this off. It's worse than The Room (2003) which I thought would be impossible to top. The sphere of action is supposed to be on a remote island, but we are presented with power lines, farm fencing, lengths of concreted drainage, and distributions of an armory hold and a computer centre. At the same time, language is indecipherable because of a gale blowing through out the exterior scenes, but being overpowered by the continuous twerping of birds, so you miss about 80% of the plot being revealed (which may be an excellent thing for this story). The marine troop is thoroughly united, that they are fighting amongst themselves and the technicians they're supposed to save as much as they're fighting the Universal Soldiers. The customary tough women in these Asylum stories abound with the customary attempt to throw in red herrings with the obviously over-whining backstabber. The toughness becomes confounding when these unconquerable soldiers are beaten back by the weaponless heroine, and her sudden ability to retrieve a program in order to close down the attackers, yet strangely allows the system to create a Terminator-clone to stretch out the story to 80 minutes. Like my good friend, the other critic, I can't understand why I keep looking at Asylum films, but then I have money to throw ($1.00), and my life is well past its half-way mark. I guess watching these films encourages me to ponder such philosophical questions as: Who finances these films? Why do children starve in the world and these investors get a return for their money? Do I have a future in script writing? Is there a filmaker out there trying to emulate Ulli Lommel? Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Worst. Movie. Ever. The half star is because the bad sound, worse acting and random yelling fits is a journey in how bad a movie can get. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member 1 star for the final fight. The rest of the film is very poorly made.
