Christian Blauvelt IndieWire If “1883,” Sheridan’s most perfectly formed series, was his “Godfather,” then “1923” is his “Godfather Part II”: sprawling, even scattershot, but an extraordinary personal statement painted on the largest possible canvas. Rated: A- Mar 17, 2025 Full Review Anita Singh Daily Telegraph (UK) This series is never dull. Rated: 4/5 Feb 25, 2025 Full Review Brian Tallerico RogerEbert.com The consistently shallow and clichéd writing often fades away under the production value of “1923” and the sheer scope of what Sheridan and his team are attempting. Feb 21, 2025 Full Review Jackie K. Cooper jackiekcooper.com If there is no Season 3 then this series was neatly wrapped. Rated: 7/10 Apr 16, 2025 Full Review Rodrigo Perez The Playlist ...“1923” is more of the same meat and potatoes that Sheridan generally delivers, but thanks to Ford, Mirren and standouts like Sklenar, Schlaepfer, and Randolph, it’s generally compelling TV, not to mention ambitious in its scope. Rated: B Apr 11, 2025 Full Review Danielle Solzman Solzy at the Movies The back half of 1923 offers a satisfying conclusion to the story that began in the first season. Stephen C 8 successful episodes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ages 17 and older!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/24/25 Full Review K H Fantastic! 1923 is best of them all. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/15/25 Full Review pudgy p Production values and acting are really well done. My only major gripe with this show is that everybody dies, from minor part actors to main cast, not every character has to have tragedy. If something can go wrong it does. The finale really wrapped up fast with the main villain, to the court case of the native and the main characters death. Loved the actors and action, just the storyline really needed refinement. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/13/25 Full Review Audience Member As a fan of Yellowstone, 1888 and season 1 of 1923, I can assuredly say season 2 of 1923 is complete garbage. Isn't the entire premise "Yellowstone" protecting the land? The ridiculous misadventures of Spencer and Alexandra are 80% of the show plus the cartoonish situations each face every episode. Also, I think a girl at the Dutton ranch had a miscarriage, was almost eaten by a mountain lion and is then attacked by a wolf all in the span of a couple days LMFAO.... Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/09/25 Full Review Derek T Rambling, pointless, uncaptivating, devoid of any story. Each story line sets forward a series of increasingly unbelievable, unfortunate events stitched together for our characters... rabies, eaten by a wolf, frostbite, jailed, multiple molestations, bootlegging, gratuitous sex scenes, all while peoples actions were increasingly out of line with their character, like when Alex could have just stepped back from being assaulted while waitressing(her fiery character def. would not have acted as she did) ... Devolution into the truly depraved sexual imagination of the writers, was so unnecessary. I fast forwarded through half of the season and finally quit on the third to the last episode. Reading the recap, I'm glad I didn't. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/06/25 Full Review Sharon P I loved Season One but Season Two was a neat total disappointment. Alexandra just kept having one tribulation after another. Then there’s the girls Timothy Dalton’s character is keeping as sex.slaves. This was just all about victimizing women. Shame on Mr Sheridan, I got so disgusted I didn’t watch all the episodes. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/04/25 Full Review Read all reviews
