Even for a cartoon character, going through puberty isn't easy for a young person. Andrew is learning that first hand as he experiences the nightmare that is growing up in this animated series geared toward adults. Along for the ride are friends Nick and Jessi, who develop a budding romance along the way. The comedy veterans who lend their voices to "Big Mouth" include John Mulaney, Nick Kroll, Maya Rudolph and Jordan Peele.

Alison Herman Variety What could be treacly assurance á la “Our Bodies, Ourselves” was instead reinforced with gleeful profanity... Yet the show’s underlying sincerity never wavered. Jun 4, 2025 Full Review Rendy Jones Autostraddle This is one massive growth spurt that won’t make you cringe. May 30, 2025 Full Review Johnny Loftus Decider Season 8 of Big Mouth is its last, so fans who’ve stuck with the series since the beginning will enjoy seeing Nick, Andrew, Jessi and Missy navigate the anxieties of high school. May 29, 2025 Full Review Shawn Van Horn Collider The characters we've followed for so long are growing up, and at a certain point, not only will their hormone monsters leave them, but so will we. It all leads to a poignant and hilariously filthy end. Rated: 8/10 May 22, 2025 Full Review Ben Sherlock Screen Rant Netflix's coming-of-age cartoon is just as fresh, keenly observed, hilariously gross, and universally relatable as ever in its final season. Rated: 8/10 May 21, 2025 Full Review Alan French FandomWire Big Mouth ends on a positive message about life and embracing the future. Rated: 7/10 May 21, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Daniel O Big Mouth continues, with every episode of every season, to deliver top-notch quality. It’s more of the same, but when the show can’t get any better, that’s a VERY tall order. Somehow, the same characters didn’t get old. The show didn’t get cringy. Redrawing Nick while keeping everyone else the same was a brilliant idea and really threw a curveball into the show. They could’ve kept going, but they ended on a high note, and I’m sure all fans will be grateful that it wasn’t overdone. It’s clear they’re setting themselves up for an “adults version” of Big Mouth, and I really hope it won’t be an “adults version of Rugrats.” Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/27/25 Full Review Joe G So sad to see this show end! I remember when I first started watching it. I've never seen an adult cartoon like it. It was a satisfying way to end it. I was wondering how much longer they could go with the show. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/18/25 Full Review Alice K Perfect end to a brilliant show! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/07/25 Full Review R B This season, with the exception of the exceptionally well-done finale, felt like an attempt to validate past criticisms of the show. The jokes weren’t as funny, and the adult/sexual content was amplified to a point that would warrant an NC-17 rating if it weren’t animated. I enjoyed it, but not as much as the previous seasons. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/31/25 Full Review Yash B "Big Mouth" is a totally unhinged and raunchy comedy ride for 8 whole seasons. This was a show I followed since it was brand new, and I think it has always been fun. It is pretty disgusting, and sometimes it can feel like too much, but there is also something honest and sincere here. Going through puberty is a difficult experience for just about everyone, and this show taps into a lot of different topics in a really creative way. Not every season is equally good, but the show is consistently funny and easy to binge, and I found the ending to be surprisingly heartfelt and sweet. Overall, this is a show that is raunchy sure, but it is also intelligent and well thought out, and I will actually miss it now that it is over. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/29/25 Full Review matthias s *Big Mouth* Season 8 is a near-perfect sendoff—earning a solid 73% in my hormonal hall of fame. It’s classic *Big Mouth*: wild, weird, wonderfully inappropriate, and sneakily wise. The final season delivers pure fun, sex-ed smarts, and that gooey self-love core we’ve always loved. The ending? Beautiful. Bittersweet. Totally fitting. It’s hard to say goodbye to these awkward, lovable weirdos, but the creators stuck the landing. I still want more—because who doesn’t need a little more Hormone Monster chaos? But they ended it just right. Gross, hilarious, heartfelt—this finale is the emotional climax we didn’t know we needed. Bravo. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/28/25 Full Review Read all reviews
