Verne Gay Newsday Fine farewell to a streaming jewel. Rated: 4/4 Jun 28, 2021 Full Review M.N. Miller Ready Steady Cut Bosch was a show fueled by patience, sun-soaked streets, a righteous mindset, and the stoic Titus Welliver. The final season is by far the most suspenseful. It’s that rare show that knew it was time to go but never overstayed its welcome. Rated: 3.5/5 Oct 9, 2022 Full Review Diane Carson KDHX (St. Louis) Bosch takes its place among the most understated, best tv series. Jun 29, 2021 Full Review Peter Martin ScreenAnarchy What remains the driving force is Harry Bosch's search for justice in behalf of himself and in behalf of those who cannot seek true justice for themselves, either because of their lack of power ... or because they are dead. Rated: 4.5/5.0 Jun 29, 2021 Full Review Steve Newall Flicks (AU, NZ, UK) Season 7 of Bosch does fittingly close a chapter for the character, in both emotional terms and in thrillingly crossing some lines that cannot be uncrossed. Jun 29, 2021 Full Review Diane Carson AWFJ.org The impressive, understated acting by all the principals drives events with Titus Welliver as Bosch, the solid anchor with sophisticated taste, as impressive in still, silent moments as he is in action. David d Having read a few Michael Connelly books on Bosch, it was a nice surprise to find that a TV series of Bosch had been made. They even started years ago ! I took an Amazon Prime subscription just for this and did not regret it for a moment 😍👌. Except that... The TV series in my opinion tops the books by far, in terms of keeping attention and excitement ! And now I am stuck with 7 Bosch novels from a series of 10 that I bought, in which I became less interested because the TV show blew my mind ! Binge-watched all of it, as well as all 3 seasons of 'Bosch: Legacy' and can hardly wait for the last, season 4. As you would expect, the TV show is a tad different from the books in terms of personalities and action. It has everything you would expect: great and believeable characters with all their honors and flaws, compelling stories, lots of power play and politics, true-to-life investigations, including the incidental mess-ups and interdepartmental rivalry. Plus legal entanglements with shady lawyers (of course, The Lincoln Lawyer is from the same author and creator. Gonna watch that series as well sometime. It was introduced with a cinema movie with Matthew Mc.Conaughy long ago). And great scenery. I had never heard of Titus Welliver and it appears that is my loss. Tough and cynical in the first seasons, he becomes more accessible, emotional as the series progresses. As the stories span several years, you also see his daughter Allison (Madison Lintz) growing up. While first less convincing, the actress and the character really develop. His interactions with his partner Jerry (Jamie Hector) and boss Billets (Amy Aquino) as well as his relationship with deputy chief Irvin Irving (Lance Reddick) are also second to none. And the moments when their stories come to the foreground are a nice break from the Bosch routine - which is actually not a routine ate all.... One of my favorite characters is Eleanor Wish (Sarah Clarke), the ex-wife of Harry and mother of Alison. BEWARE, SPOILER: I had a real hard time when she was killed halfway through the series. Not sure if that is in the books, by the way.... Anyway, a great watch for who like to watch police stories with a lot of intelligent action (emphasize intelligent !!), good investigations, a good presentation of the interaction between the personal life and the job, and several sterling actors ! Finally, 'Bosch' may have finished, but there is 'Ballard' coming, with Lucy Liu as Cold Case detective Ballard, who will be consulting with or engaging... Harry Bosch as part of her investigations, as well as his daughter, if I am not mistaken 🤫. Much to look forward to. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/23/24 Full Review Jack R 10/10 this is a unique piece of TV history Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/26/24 Full Review Tom M They should never have taken this show off,it may be just another police show to some but this has a slower pace better detective work added. Other characters play good roles. Amazon has a lot of good shows ,I wish Jack Ryan series never was taken off either.
