In different regions of the U.S., there are old tales of mythic creatures. Whether it's Bigfoot in the Pacific Northwest or a prehistoric creature in Lake Champlain in the Northeast, the existence of none of these creatures has been confirmed. But that doesn't stop people from believing or claiming to see them. In the swamplands of the South lies one of the country's oldest such legends, brought to life in this docuseries through dramatizations, eyewitness accounts, news reports, and interviews. With strange occurrences -- like cattle mutilations and pets taken from backyards -- on the rise in a remote Southern town, locals turn to old Cajun legends, like the shape-shifting Rougarou, as explanations. A small animal-control business and a skeptical deputy are at the heart of the investigations.
