BUT, is anyone else bothered by how the FBI agent perpetually wears spike-heel boots and never turns her lights off when she pulls up (alone) into an alley beside a dark house where she knows her psychopathic nemesis is lying in wait? That character seems more teen-horror victim to me than intellectual thriller hero. Not to mention that when they thought she might be involved in shooting the president, they simply released her from custody without any oversight from the FBI or the Department of Defense. In other words, the political drama works for me, but the criminal conspiracy part is pretty lame. Unfortunately it falls apart in Season 2 and becomes sappy with a nice little pretty bow tied around every storyline in a matter of minutes. And every time Keiffer Sutherland speaks he sounds like Mike Brady from The Brady Bunch giving everyone an uncomfortable gimmicky lecture. The writing is just odd and poor after the first season, and the use of tech is a big eye roll just like many of the genres of shows. The story is obviously very unusual, it sets off with the US Capitol being bombed killing everyone inside it and a guy who's the "Designated Survivor" is the next president due to the unforeseen circumstances. How this newbie adapts to being POTUS and manages the extreme challenges at hand is the plot. The protagonist faces blows from all directions in ways which the viewers cannot foresee at all. Kiefer as Tom Kirkman the prez, Adan Canto as Aaron Shore, Chief of staff(and other roles) are my favourites when it comes to acting. Screenplay is absolutely amazing and the intricate detailing too I'd say. Although when you finish watching the series you'd feel like they beat around the bush especially after the lozano reveal so much to actually conclude at a very vanilla ending. That pissed me off a lot since the "Pax Americana jihad was just too simple for it to slowly drag for 13-14 episodes of one hour each. Some episodes were infact pretty boring to me since they weren't equally attention grabbing compared to the "main drama" that was going. For example - The whole Tyler Richmond saga. Overall, solid watch(atleast till s1) and I'm giving it an 4/5. I cut one star because of the aforementioned "drag" in the story. See more Read all reviews
