Mystery writer and amateur detective Jessica Fletcher - a down-to-earth, middle-aged widow - ferrets out the criminals in idyllic Cabot Cove, Maine, which apparently is the murder capital of the United States for the show's 12-season run. Though while traveling, she uncovers a fair number of killers as well.

Audience Member This is a very good season. This is when the new sheriff Mort Metker comes on to the show. I loved Amos (Tom Bosley) but in the show he retired and went back to Kentucky. I highly reccomend MSW especially if you love shows like law and order. This show is funny and mysterious and the characters become ppl you love. Cabot cove seems like one the nicest places to live.
