Indications thus far, however, are that Ms. DuVernay is more interested in how a filmmaker was empowered by his or her own filmmaking, something that’s very personal and not all that interesting. Go to Full Review

Armond White National Review 03/26/2022

03/25/2022 In Ava DuVernay's brilliant One Perfect Shot, director C. Fitz not only reveals how movie magic is made but listens closely to the heart of each director. A reminder that Hollywood is better with an array of stories from those of different cultures. It's not only a show about F-stops, apertures, or the ideal focal length of a lens. Nor is it solely about when should a director use wide, medium or close-up angles. It's about the inner vision of each director and C. Fitz's episode with director Kasi Lemmons shines! Thus, for one perfect moment I felt the joy from freedom that Harriet Tubman must have felt! That is true movie magic and the greatest reason for cinema. See more Read all reviews
