With a charming central trio, an intriguing quest and plenty of magical moments, this faithful reboot is a fun (if familiar) family-friendly fantasy. Go to Full Review

What I like most about this adaptation of the first novel in Rick Riordan’s best-selling fantasy series is that it speaks to the audience the books were written for: younger primary school students. Go to Full Review

The novels are agreeably zippy, and Percy is an engaging character. On the screen, the wonky FX detracts from the charm. But those over Harry Potter and still looking for a magic-wielding underdog in whom to invest will find lots here to enjoy. Go to Full Review

The quirks that make the book such an outlier in the fantasy sphere have all but disappeared... If the distinguishing features of something are gone, what is left but a plain reminder of what could be and what you once experienced? Go to Full Review

Brent R. @brent.rothyy 9h This show is an amazing adaptation. Even with the changes from the books the story is portrayed beautifully. The actors do an incredible job and it’s easy to tell that they truly care about the story. See more mirage Z. @miragezero Feb 28 i liked it a lot and adapted the book very well, but i did think some seasons dragged a little, still overall good. See more Rhidian S. @Ballin3D Feb 19 I enjoyed it overall I’m a huge fan of the books and grew up on the Logan lerman movies which honestly as a kid I really loved those movies, so I’m just happy as hell to see these characters done right. I love the actors chosen here these are all perfect casting choices, the pacing in the show here is kinda slow and can get slightly boring at times. Strangely enough I think some more action sequences not from the book could’ve have been nice not like huge set piece differences like the films, but I do think it would have benefited from it. Also this first season is insanely dark for literally no reason and it takes this season specifically so visually unappealing majority of the time because they couldn’t turn the saturation up slightly. Other than all that I’m glad it was successful and can’t wait for the future for these kids. See more Malik D. @Princevon Feb 16 I really enjoyed this show. See more Zeke H. @zmans Feb 15 The best show the best show that I’ve watched in a long time See more Alex V Feb 6 Percy Jackson and the Olympians had a shaky start for me. The first episode was good, but the second felt a bit too light and "Disney Channel." Once I accepted that it’s clearly aimed at a middle-grade audience, though, it became a really enjoyable and well-written show. The characters are likeable and have enough depth to feel more than just plot devices, and every episode delivers something engaging, whether that’s a new god, a monster, or a strong story moment, while still carrying the main plot forward. It’s especially a treat if you like Greek mythology and urban fantasy. It’s not perfect, and I haven’t read the books so I can’t judge it as an adaptation, but after giving it a second chance I ended up watching from episode two straight through to the finale in one day, which says a lot. For me, it’s a 4 out of 5. See more Read all reviews
