Previous Nicola Austin Empire Magazine With a charming central trio, an intriguing quest and plenty of magical moments, this faithful reboot is a fun (if familiar) family-friendly fantasy. 3/5 Jan 25, 2024 Full Review Leila Latif Guardian We’re off to an encouraging start! 3/5 Jan 3, 2024 Full Review Craig Mathieson Sydney Morning Herald What I like most about this adaptation of the first novel in Rick Riordan’s best-selling fantasy series is that it speaks to the audience the books were written for: younger primary school students. 3/5 Dec 29, 2023 Full Review Joey Rambles Cultured Vultures It may please die-hard fans of the books, but this Percy Jackson adaptation could’ve been so much more memorable had the characters been more likable, the episodes more exciting, and the humor more effective. 5.5/10 Feb 2, 2024 Full Review Adrian Ruiz But Why Tho? A Geek Community Despite its compelling source material, a talented cast, and the allure of Greek mythology, the series struggles to break free from the shackles of lackluster exposition-driven dialogue, inconsistent CGI, and a failure to realize its characters’ journeys. Feb 1, 2024 Full Review J. Shruti Film Companion Percy still manages to be an edge-of-the-seat comfort watch. Jan 4, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews Next

Previous Shaila k I agree with others that this show was a much more faithful adaptation that the movies and I loved seeing a lot of things come to life on screen. I thought the effects were adequate for what the show called for and most of the adult actors were great like ares, Poseidon, and Hades. I felt Percy himself did well enough in the role but annabeth, grover, and percys mom all had quite weak acting moments. They often weren't able to sell the emotion of the moment and the kids could come across like they were reading lines rather than acting. The main trio has little chemistry which sucks because much of the story rests on their friendship. The thing that disappointed me most was the lack of comedy. Percy was so funny in the books and that is what really made me fall in love with him as a character. He's a realistic teenager in how sassy he is- but we see so little of this on screen. I'm not giving up- I'm hoping in the new season we see them grow as actors and develop more chemistry so that I feel more invested in the story Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/25/24 Full Review Tio Edu B É abominável as escolhas de como adaptaram o livro, a única coisa que fiquei pensando: o que estou assistindo... Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/24 Full Review JF D Rassemble bcp au Film par conte les très bon .a regarder Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/24 Full Review Audrey E I loved this show so much! The acting was great (especially Leah, Walker, Aryan and Virgina), the changes from the original story were mostly improvements, and the world felt interesting and engaging. My only complaint is the pacing is sometimes bogged down by exposition but since this season has to do SO much worldbuilding I expect the subsequent seasons to be even better. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/24 Full Review Katelyn K A million times better than the failed movie adaptations. Yes there are changes from the books, but overall the changes just enhanced the story further. The cast is perfect for their roles and greatly encapsulate the characters from the books i’ve loved since childhood. I can’t wait for season two!!
