Felt much better than the movies, was well-made, liked the casting especially Walker Scobell and it all felt so much more real. Possibly needed stronger acting at some stages but atill very good. But another point weighed it down heavily, and that being that characters like Medusa died way too easily. Unlike the movie, the show lets the story breathe, and the emotional moments actually land—especially Percy’s bond with his mom and his first days at Camp Half-Blood. The characters feel real: Percy is chaotic and sarcastic, Annabeth is smart and curious, and their chemistry builds naturally. Camp Half-Blood finally feels alive, cabins have personality, the campers actually look like kids, and the iconic orange shirts bring that sense of belonging. The show respects the heart of the story—kids surviving a world bigger than them—making it easy to get emotionally invested. I’m already obsessed. The action is fun, the cast is solid, some of the acting felt a little awkward, but I wouldn’t say it was awful. Grover was still pretty funny, though. I’m glad they kept them that way. Bear McCreary’s score is in this is awesome too. Overall, it’s a decent time, but if you want a better experience, I would say read the book.
