The actor who plays Percy is unconvincing. There's no climax, and the dialogue is generic. It was supposed to be a faithful adaptation of the books, but there are considerable changes to the story. The only thing that saves it is the deepening of Percy's relationship with his mother, otherwise it's pretty generic and doesn't meet expectations.
