What to Know

Critics Consensus

A classical rendition of the Nottingham legend played straight, this Robin Hood doesn't reinvent the longbow but is polished enough to stir up some merriment.

Is it any good? It’s perfectly fine, if very melodramatic. Bean is, as you’d expect, a hefty presence. Go to Full Review

The outlaw character of Robin Hood has been a part of English folklore for more than 600 years, and there have been numerous screen adaptations...so it's not altogether surprising this latest version can sometimes struggle to escape the generic. Go to Full Review

Look, by any objective measure Robin Hood is terrible. Subjectively? I couldn’t be having more fun and I suspect it will be the same for anyone who goes into it with the right attitude. Go to Full Review

This series fleshes out rich, cultural origins for this notable folkloric outlaw. Robin Hood is grounded in history and spirituality. Balanced with nuanced, strong characters, this typical tale is a lot more interesting and refreshing this time around. Go to Full Review

Robin Hood is refreshingly adamant about not neglecting its key female characters, and both Priscilla and Marian get a good amount to do here. Go to Full Review

Toby N @Blueraja07 1d I was easily taken back to Henry II’s kingdom with fantastic writing, acting, costumes and set designs. I think this version is better than any version of Robin Hood depicted on screen than I’ve ever seen. Can’t wait for season 2. See more Michael T. @Tattooedmike Feb 1 Great show! One of my faves. Its kind of a different spin on the robin hood story. See more Elisha I @asapidox Jan 31 Great start and a couple of standout episodes, but the middle dragged with uneven pacing. Still enjoyable with good moments, just not consistently gripping. See more Simon B @S1m0n Jan 30 Entertaining enough. They repeatedly try to force into the narrative that there's a struggle between religions; that the normans were Christians oppressing the pagan Saxons! What drivel. Saxons were Christianised centuries before! The story of a people being oppressed by invaders doesn't need a made up religious conflict. See more Christian F @Frost244 Jan 30 Little John is crowbarred in with woke propaganda making an English folklore into woke nonsense. Ralph is kinda sus but I’ll put up with it. Other than that, it’s great. Go woke go broke. See more Lowchungus @Lorant1fa Jan 16 Really enjoyed the show. Hopefully we get a season 2. See more Read all reviews
