Caroline Siede The Daily Beast Mississippi is one of 18 states where the governor and lieutenant governor are elected separately, which means they can come from different parties. That election quirk makes for a fascinating political set-up. May 23, 2025 Full Review Ty'Kira Smalls Common Sense Media This series struggles to balance comedy with topics on politics and race. Jun 10, 2025 Full Review Joel Keller Decider Despite some interesting elements and the steadying presence of Vaughn, the sillier elements of Tyler Perry’s She The People overwhelm what could have been a funny story about messy families and racial politics. May 27, 2025 Full Review Archi Sengupta LeisureByte.com She the People isn't the best, but considering Tyler Perry, it's quite entertaining. Rated: 3/5 May 23, 2025 Full Review Jonathon Wilson Ready Steady Cut It isn’t exactly high art, but Tyler Perry’s She the People is at least deliberately funny instead of accidentally funny, and on that level, it is a lot easier to take seriously than his more ridiculous dramatic fare. ALIVETTE M Looking for something new & casual to watch, I stumbled on She The People. I gave it a chance, but couldn't stand it. The main character is Perry's same portrayal of women: low self-esteem, divorce, family struggles and willing to tolerate some kind of abuse in this case at work (mobbing). The constant micro aggressions are cringy & irritating. The premise of the show in my opinion showed promise, but yet again it feels like a recycled & rushed show just to put something out there. Tyler Perry needs to refresh & update his work, if you've seen 1 movie or series, you've seen them all. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/01/25 Full Review Her M This show surprised me!! I don't normally care for Tyler's works but this had me cracking up and laughing out loud frequently!! Really funny well acted and relevant. A good watch hopeful for a 2nd season!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/01/25 Full Review bob c Junk. Anachronistic junk. Junk full of caracatures. Junk dumped by electorate in 2024. Fantasy junk. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 05/29/25 Full Review S B Great comedy and brilliantly cast. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/27/25 Full Review Kehinde A Halfway through season 1 of "She the People," and absolutely loving it!!! Seeing Terri Vaughn take the lead in this multi-generational political comedy is right on time. Funny, punchy and in your face, this show is for the ENTIRE FAMILY! can't wait for season 2 to drop and see how each character's personal storyline comes into full bloom. Until then, I look forward to binging the 2nd half of season 1. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/27/25 Full Review Cherron M The timing of this show is perfect in the present political climate. I welcome the humor and seriousness of Terri-Vaughn’s character. The writing is punchy and the acting is good. Looking forward to the next season!
