Robert Lloyd Los Angeles Times There are mysteries to solve, of course, but they come and go, while family, even at its most arduous and argumentative, is forever. Oct 21, 2025 Full Review Alison Herman Variety Starting with the nonsensical name and flatlining from there, the show is a generically conceived, limply executed take on small-town law enforcement. Oct 20, 2025 Full Review Monique Jones Common Sense Media The success of Sheriff Country comes in part because of its comfortable predictability. You know the crimes will get solved, family issues will be addressed, and some lingering storylines will keep you coming back for the next episode. Rated: 3/5 Nov 4, 2025 Full Review Joel Keller Decider Sheriff Country has already set up some good stories and rivalries in its first episode, and Baccarin strikes the right tone as a person who wants to keep her hometown safe. Oct 22, 2025 Full Review Megan Vick Collider Sheriff Country is at its best when it doubles down on being a relatable family drama with crime elements. It loses what makes it special when it leans too hard into being a Jerry Bruckheimer production. Rated: 6/10 Oct 21, 2025 Full Review Brittany Frederick TVBrittanyF.com While the Sheriff Country premiere is very much a first episode, it comes with a lot of talent and plenty of potential. Greg A Head and shoulders above typical police procedurals. Well written episodes with some nice twists. As many of the better crime dramas today (e.g. Slow Horses, Landman& MobLand) more emphasis on characters and less on procedure). The chemistry between Morena Baccarin (Mikey Fox), Matt Lauria (Nathan Boon) and W. Earl Brown (Wes Fox) is tangible. Nice moments of comic relief showing the characters foibles making them human and believable. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/11/25 Full Review Audience Member It's a good show. Not going to win big awards, but it's a good watch. The characters are interesting and the story line is pretty good. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/11/25 Full Review Mason H The characters are great, love Morena in this and the world is really interesting - I haven’t seen what a show set in Weed growing areas. So far the investigations are good! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/28/25 Full Review Arlen B. This was only 1 episode but blah Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/22/25 Full Review Liam A After much excitement waiting for sheriff country it certainly delivered an amazing pilot first episode soo touching, edge of seat, emotional an deep they've done soo well with it and incredible casting too soo much talent. Im soo excited for the rest of the season total obsessed with sheriff country now i love the show it really gives the small town country vibe too. 5 star highly recommend Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/20/25 Full Review George M This show is a mess and at the same time interesting... I have to say it's the first time I don't like something, but I am waiting to see what happens next. The police action is amateurish, the story is all over the place, same old kind of drama with cop parent, from one extreme to the other... still I kind of got stuck watching it. Hm...
