HBO does it their way in an Alex Gibney-directed documentary that traces the first 60 years of legendary entertainer Frank Sinatra's life. Beginning with his birth in Hoboken, N.J., and rise to stardom in his 20s, the tribute -- told in the words of Ol' Blue Eyes himself from hours of archived interviews, plus commentary from those closest to him -- follows Sinatra's growth from roadhouse performer to global singing sensation. Gibney weaves music and images from the artist's life together with rarely seen footage of his famous 1971 "Retirement Concert" in Los Angeles. The film's narrative is shaped by Sinatra's song choices for that concert, which Gibney interprets as the singer's personal guide through his own life.
