Rebecca Nicholson Guardian This is nature television that is best enjoyed with your brain closed off... It favours cutesy anthropomorphism and spectacular visuals over any honest assessment of nature and the environment as a whole. Rated: 3/5 Mar 3, 2025 Full Review Daniel Fienberg The Hollywood Reporter If you don’t approach it looking to have your expectations or your place within the world challenged, The Americas completely delivers on the very basic things you’re looking for in a wildlife series. The photography is astonishing. Feb 25, 2025 Full Review Robert Daniels RogerEbert.com An objectively beautiful series filled with awe-inspiring landscapes and handsomely depicted wildlife whose existence is flattened by a repetitive approach. Feb 20, 2025 Full Review Neely Swanson Beverly Hills Courier Each 45-minute episode is more of an appetizer than a full-course meal, but even so, it’s a great introduction to places you’ve visited or wished to or didn’t even know that you wanted to. Apr 22, 2025 Full Review Joel Keller Decider If there is anything innovative about The Americas is that it makes things that were previously unseen into interesting drama. Feb 24, 2025 Full Review Christopher Campbell Nonfics (Substack) As with most nature docuseries of late, The Americas amazes with its cinematography. Unfortunately, it covers too much ground so quickly and briefly that there’s no time to grasp any segment before moving on to the next. Feb 21, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Dan W This is a fantastic show with amazing nature footage worthy of a PBS documentary and deserves a chef's kiss. If it was not for the commercial breaks, you might be tempted to make a donation to your local PBS affiliate. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/12/25 Full Review Pat R Best nature documentary I have ever watched. Not boring at all Photography done with drones and remote cameras. Spectacular Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/02/25 Full Review Hugh S From Hugh Smith I thought the Music drowns out Tom Hanks voice, and he speaks too low, either turn the music down so we can focus on the photography and his narrations, or turn up the volume on his voice. The photography is great and all the information, but the continuous music was a conflict and subtracted from the enjoyment of the program. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/25 Full Review Norman S Beautifully filmed, but shallow. Hank's narration appears to be aimed at kindergarten kids, or idiots and it's all very cosy and perfect, with absolutely no reference to the challenges of climate change and habitat loss. The BBC and Sir David have nothing to worry about when confronted with this Disney version of nature. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/25/25 Full Review P S Fabulous photography wrecked by Mom's apple pie commentary rendering it pretty unwatchable. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/09/25 Full Review Karen F If the audio wasn't so dreadful, I would probably find this series very rewarding. I tried to watch it on two different televisions and the results were the same. I finally had to give up. What a disappointment. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/01/25 Full Review Read all reviews
