Synopsis
The life span of a new restaurant can sometimes be as short-lived as Emeril Lagasse's 2001 NBC sitcom. Luckily, there are some eateries that not only turn a profit, but keep their doors open long enough to eventually become institutions in their hometowns. In this series, host Lagasse travels across the United States to pay tribune to these famous establishments. In each city he visits (including his beloved New Orleans), Lagasse stops at three historic restaurants, samples the cuisine, and notes the significance of these legendary dining spots.
