Adam Weissman

Adam Weissman is a prolific children's television director who has worked on nearly 40 productions since his directorial debut in 1991 on the family comedy series "Welcome Freshmen." His career began as a production assistant in New York City. He worked his way up, and became a producer and director of commercials. In 1990, he made the leap to television by creating a pilot for a family comedy called "The Norton Project," which he wrote, directed and produced. The pilot did not get picked up, but it did draw the attention of Nickelodeon and launch Weissman's TV career. He went on to direct a wide range of children's programming including the saga of a teen would-be detective, "The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo," the family-friendly horror anthology "Are You Afraid of the Dark?," and the adventure spin-off "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids: The TV Show." In 2005, Weissman took on directorial duties for the popular Nickelodeon sketch comedy series "All That," and followed with a number of kid comedy staples: "Drake & Josh," "Zoey 101," and "iCarly." In 2011, he helmed episodes of two series showcasing young characters of advanced intelligence and abilities, "A.N.T. Farm," about an 11-year old girl who enters a gifted high school program, and "Mr. Young," in which a teenage boy returns to his high school as the science teacher after already completing university. Weissman has directed over 250 hours of television programming for the U.S. and Canada since 1991.
