Adrian Hodges is a British film and television writer and producer best known for his popular sci-fi TV series "Primeval" and "Survivors." He made his television debut in 1991 with an episode he wrote for the long-running BBC teleplay series "Screen One." His next efforts were the screenplays for the well-regarded films "The Bridge" and the T.S. Eliot biopic "Tom & Viv." In 1997 he produced and co-wrote the screenplay for "Metroland," a romantic drama featuring Christian Bale as a man questioning his life and marriage after reuniting with his best friend. Hodges then worked as a freelance writer for shows like "The Jump" and "The Last King," about the turbulent life of Charles II. In 2005 he wrote an episode of the critically acclaimed HBO show "Rome," which was nominated for a Writers Guild Award. After adapting several Phillip Pullman novels for TV, Hodges landed a series deal with ITV to write and produce "Primeval," a science-fiction thriller that follows the adventures of a team of scientists as they track down dangerous prehistoric creatures. The show, which ran from 2007 to 2009, amassed a cult following along with several BAFTA nominations. In 2008 Hodges negotiated a deal with BBC One to write and produce a remake of the cult '70s sci-fi show "Survivors," about a group of people who survive a deadly flu outbreak and attempt to rebuild society. Though initially popular, the second season delivered low ratings and the show was canceled in 2010.
