Charles Irwin
Charles Irwin was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Early on in his acting career, Irwin landed roles in various films, including the Paul Whiteman musical "King of Jazz" (1930), the Robert Montgomery action movie "Hell Below" (1933) and "The Mystery of Mr. X" (1934). He also appeared in the Wallace Beery adventure "Treasure Island" (1934), "The Moonstone" (1934) with David Manners and "The Gilded Lily" (1935) with Claudette Colbert. His film career continued throughout the thirties and the forties in productions like "The Light That Failed" (1939) with Ronald Colman, "Shadows on the Stairs" (1941) and the adaptation "International Squadron" (1941) with Ronald Reagan. He also appeared in "The Black Swan" (1942). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the comedy "The Luck of the Irish" (1948) with Tyrone Power, "Bomba on Panther Island" (1949) and the adventure "Bomba, The Jungle Boy" (1949) with Johnny Sheffield. He also appeared in the adventure "Challenge to Lassie" (1949) with Edmund Gwenn and the Errol Flynn western "Montana" (1950). Irwin was most recently credited in the Tim McIntire musical "American Hot Wax" (1978). Irwin passed away in January 1969 at the age of 82.
