Daft Punk
In a twist of cultural fate, a duo that started out as a self-confessed "average" rock act somehow morphed into electronic music phenomenon Daft Punk. Riding in on a crest of robot masks, throbbing synth beats and conceptual performances seasoned with high production values, French musicians, writers and producers Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter fell into alignment with the zeitgeist, swapping guitars and drums for compressed synthesizers and Auto-Tune, transforming not only themselves, but the music scene as well.
