Dan Guntzelman
Television producer, writer, and director Dan Guntzelman has worked on some of the most enduringly popular, beloved television sitcoms of the 1970s and 1980s. Guntzelman started in television as a writer on "WKRP in Cincinnati," which became a sitcom sensation for many years and into syndication. Guntzelman directed and produced a few episodes as well. He also worked on the short-lived "All in the Family" spinoff "Gloria," starring Sally Struthers as the title character, and wrote the screenplay for the endearingly goody '80s sequel "Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise." Guntzelman's biggest success, though, was serving as writer and executive producer on the family-oriented sitcom "Growing Pains," focusing on the everyday problems that plague the amiably dysfunctional Seaver family. "Just the Ten of Us," a spinoff of "Growing Pains," reunited Guntzelman with "WKRP in Cincinnati" actor Frank Bonner, though success did not follow. Guntzelman also directed the television movie "Perfect Game," starring Edward Asner and Patrick Duffy.
