Diane Ashford
Dianne Ashford was an American film producer who co-founded the Atlanta-based production company, Symmetry Entertainment, in 2003. Born and raised in Atlanta, Ashford never intended on making a life for herself in the arts. In fact, upon entering Florida A&M University, Ashford made the rather safe career choice by majoring in computer science. After graduation she was recruited by a St. Louis-based wireless network company and promptly relocated to Missouri to start her new life and career. Ashford was grateful to have the job, but after six years she found herself growing restless. Having always had somewhat of a creative side, she felt like her current position in the corporate world was stifling her creatively. Upon coming to that conclusion, Ashford made the rather abrupt decision to move back to Atlanta, leaving behind her life and career, to work as a producer's intern on the film "Trois 2: Pandora's Box" (2002). After a few days on set, Ashford found that she loved the work, and decided to devote her career to film and TV producing. In 2004 she co-founded, along with Angi Bones, the Atlanta based production house Symmetry Entertainment, which produced a number of films over the next several years, including "Motives 2" (2007) and "Echo at 11 Oak Drive" (2012). In addition to her work with Symmetry, Ashford also built a steady career in Hollywood serving as an associate producer on both hit films and TV shows, such as 2014's "Ride Along," as well as the cable comedy series "Survivor's Remorse" (Starz, 2014- ), the latter of which also had NBA star LeBron James serving as its Executive Producer.
