Forever Season 1 is a bold and entertaining reimagining of Judy Blume’s novel that portrays black love with all of the complexity, intensity, and confusion it consists of. Lovie Simon and Michael Cooper Jr are charming leads. Go to Full Review

This *extremely* loose adaptation of Judy Blume's iconic 1975 text keeps the sexual frankness as it updates the story for contemporary audiences. Performances are great, though the constant blocking/break ups in the first half of the season is grating. Go to Full Review

Joseph V Oct 4 The show starts slow, but it then moves to a true teenage modern world. Mature written for a teenage love show. They context the reality of some kids now. Great casting and directing. See more Astariea D Sep 12 I loved it!! I thought that it was very unique for it to be the guy to be the more emotional one. Not really depicted too much, especially in black and brown shows. I love seeing the different perspectives and different scenes with respectable emotionally intelligence. Teenagers. I love the reality of teenagers going to college in not always ending up together and it could be a possibility but maybe not. And this coming of age story I felt everything and was able to empathize sympathize and or relate to most of the characters. I loved how there was a supportive, black father with realistic expectations of his son. So much more I can say...simply, I loved it! I'm almost afraid to watch the second season because I feel like it'll ruin the first season for me. Lol See more Binge W Jul 29 Terrible boring and childish plot. See more JC J Jul 22 Forever is a masterpiece... Period.... I have not watched a film or tv show so perfect in a long time. This show actually inspires hope in Hollywood returning to real story with depth. You wont see the shock and awww over the top hyper sexuality or violence in this story, but what you will see is a captivating real life feeling of pearing into the window of first love something many have experienced and charrish. This story and the emotional intelligence is palpable. They take no short cuts. The writing, acting, cinematography, music and editing is 10/10. The journey of a deep first love narrated through classism, sociopolitical realities and the delicate dance of parenthood was executed in perfect balance to reflect real life pressure of being young in a complicated world. Every character is real and honest. All the performers keep you engaged in a way that is positive and hold social value. Thank you for breaking stereo typical Hollywood manufactured "black characters and life images" Thank you for showing the nuances of our community. Thank you for showing healthy black love and family. Thank you for this master piece See more Russell O Jul 12 Acting was wonderful. I'd recommend to anyone who enjoys the romance of young mature love. See more Antoine W. @antoinewardjr Jun 26 Mara Brock Akil is truly a joy—I'm a lifelong fan of her work, and Forever is no exception. The cast, the pacing, and the storytelling are all excellent. Every time Karen Pittman is on screen, I’m moved to tears. She brings such depth to her role as a protective (if slightly “cray cray”!) mom, and I absolutely love it. Justin’s dynamic with his family is another highlight—it feels real, warm, and layered. I’m already counting down the days until Season 2! 10/10 See more Read all reviews
