Recognized throughout the music industry for his creative lyrics and catchy tunes, singer-songwriter Don Selwyn was also a force to be reckoned with as an entertainer. Early on in his acting career, Selwyn landed roles in various films, including the action flick "Sleeping Dogs" (1977) with Sam Neill, the action film "Goodbye Pork Pie" (1980) with Tony Barry and the John Bach thriller "The Lost Tribe" (1982). He also appeared in the drama "Trespasses" (1983) with Patrick McGoohan. He kept working in film throughout the eighties and the nineties, starring in "Came a Hot Friday" (1984) with Peter Bland, "Mesmerized" (1986) and the romance "Mauri" (1989) with Anzac Wallace. Selwyn had a number of different projects under his belt in the nineties and the early 2000s, including "What Becomes of the Broken Hearted?" (1999), "Feathers of Peace" (2000) starring John Callen and "Crooked Earth" with Temuera Morrison (2001). Selwyn most recently directed "Shakespeare's Te Tangata Whai Rawa O Weneti" (2002) with Waihoroi Shortland.
