TV producer Ed Redlich came to the business via the corridors of the law. As the son of NYU law professor and dean Norman Redlich, he wound up writing for the prolific David E. Kelley on the courtroom drama "The Practice" after graduating from Harvard and NYU law school. Kelley has helped launch many a career in Hollywood, and so it was with Redlich, who graduated to the rank of producer during his time on the show and was then able to move on to similar roles with a recent high school grad following her boyfriend to college in "Felicity," the missing persons investigation drama "Without a Trace," and the hot-shot lawyer drama "Shark," starring James Woods. Part of what helped him earn his original spot on the roster of "The Practice" writers was his contribution to the 1995 TV movie "Ebbie." In this gender-bending retelling of the Charles Dickens classic "A Christmas Carol," co-written by Redlich, soap opera star Susan Lucci plays a female version of the infamous Ebenezer Scrooge. Following the cancellation of "Shark" in 2008, after two seasons, Redlich produced the 2009 science-fiction TV movie, family feuding "Revolution" with Peter Fonda, and continues to develop projects for the small screen.
