Erik Grönwall
Born in 1987 in a small town outside Stockholm, Sweden, Erik Grönwall began playing guitar in a high school punk rock band. He quickly moved to vocals as the lead singer of the metal band RAID. After an unsuccessful audition in 2007, Grönwall became a contestant on "Idol" (TV4, 2004-2011; 2013-), Sweden's version of "American Idol" (Fox, 2002-2016; ABC, 2018-), and won the contest. Less than two weeks after his victory, Grönwall released his first solo album, which was eventually certified as platinum in Sweden. Grönwall took over lead vocals for the Swedish rock band H.E.A.T. in 2010 and released three albums ("Address the Nation" in 2012, "Tearing Down the Walls" in 2014, and "Into the Great Unknown" in 2017). In 2018, Grönwall was set to make his US television debut, playing the apostle Simon Zealotes in the live broadcast of "Jesus Christ Superstar" starring John Legend, Sara Bareilles, and Alice Cooper.
