Fred Malatesta was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Malatesta's early acting career consisted of roles in various films, such as "Little Lord Fauntleroy" (1921) with Mary Pickford, "The Wagon Show" (1928) and "The Peacock Fan" (1929). He also appeared in "Caught Cheating" (1931). He kept working in film throughout the thirties, starring in the romance "A Farewell to Arms" (1932) with Helen Hayes, "The Gay Bride" (1934) and "What's Your Racket?" (1934). He also appeared in the Roger Pryor comedy "$1,000 a Minute" (1935). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the Elissa Landi adaptation "Enter Madame" (1935), "Modern Times" (1936) and the Donald Woods mystery "The Black Doll" (1938). He also appeared in "Juarez" (1939). Malatesta was most recently credited in "The Puppetoon Movie" (1987) with Paul Frees. Malatesta passed away in April 1952 at the age of 63.
