As a writer, Joe Stillman has worked on such popular animated television shows as "Beavis and Butt-Head" and "King of the Hill," as well as the blockbuster films "Shrek" and "Shrek 2." Stillman got his start working on such early 1980s films as the Stephen King anthology "Creepshow," but by the early 1990s, was regularly landing writing assignments for television series aimed at children and young adults, including the easy-going cartoon "Doug" and the surreal live-action sitcom "The Adventures of Pete & Pete." Soon after, Stillman began an association with the hit MTV animated series "Beavis and Butt-Head," which also included a writing credit on the show's spin-off movie, 1996's "Beavis and Butt-Head Do America." Additionally, Stillman worked on the next project of "Beavis and Butt-Head"'s creator, Mike Judge, the far gentler family series "King of the Hill," which would result in a pair of Emmy Award nominations in 1997 and 1998. However, Stillman's most acclaimed work was helping co-write "Shrek" in 2001 and "Shrek 2" in 2004, as the original movie earned him an Academy Award nomination for best adapted screenplay.
