Along with his wife Fran Rubel Kuzui, Kaz Kuzui is responsible for helping the beloved cult sensation "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" come to life as both a motion picture and a television series. Like his wife, Kuzui entered show business via the 1988 film "Tokyo Pop," but as the movie's producer whereas Fran's credits were director and co-writer. From this point forward, Kaz's and Fran's career mirrored each other's when it came to projects they would take on: both worked on the 1992 cult movie "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," a broad high school comedy which starred Kristy Swanson, Luke Perry, and Paul Reubens, as well as the much darker and more serious-minded television series. Running from 1997 through 2003, Kuzui served as executive producer on the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" television series, which would become much more of a widespread hit than the film that spawned it. Kuzui's next substantial television credit was as executive producer on the "Buffy" spinoff "Angel," which ran from 1999 through 2004. Additionally, Kuzui has earned either executive producer or co-executive producer credits on such films as Trey Parker and Matt Stone's outrageous comedy "Orgazmo."
