Kelly Souders
Producer and writer Kelly Souders is best known for her work on the Superman prequel series "Smallville." Souder's career began in 2001 when she wrote the screenplay for "Stuck," a short film, directed by Jamie Babbit, about two aging lesbians involved in a nasty fight. That short, which starred Jennie Ventriss and Jeanette Miller, led Souders to join the writer's room for the series "Smallville," which cast Tom Welling as a young Clark Kent and budding Man of Steel, involved with girlfriend Lana Lang, played by Kristin Kreuk, and tussling with future super-villain Lex Luther, played by Michael Rosenbaum. Souders has been a writer for over 30 episodes of "Smallville" -- making her one of the most consistent members of the show's creative team. From 2004 to 2005, Souders was a producer on "Smallville," and then a supervising producer from 2005 to 2006, and became a show runner for the series starting in 2008.
