Born on October 2, 1973 in Atlanta, Ga., LaTocha Scott, also known as LaTocha, is an American R&B and Gospel singer, songwriter and actor. At the age of 6, Scott began to sing in church, weddings and local talent shows. At 11, Scott recorded her first song with her sister Tamika. Prior to joining R&B group Xscape, Scott had been performing with a group called Precise. Xscape's major debut performance was at BET's Teen Summit in 1992. Xscape released their debut album, Hummin' Comin' at 'Cha on October 12, 1993. Xscape released their second studio album, Off the Hook, in 1995. After the Xscape's third album, Scott left the group to pursue a solo career. Emerging as a solo artist, she appeared solo on NFL Jamz in 1998 with the song, "Promises." Scott made her first film appearance in the comedy, "Fair Game" (2005). In 2012, Scott released a new single entitled "Bad Timing." In 2013, Scott starred in the second season of "R&B Divas: Atlanta." In 2017, LaTocha Scott re-joined Xscape.
