She has subsequently scripted the female buddy film "Beaches" (1988), co-produced and co-written the Goldie Hawn thriller, "Deceived" and, with no prior behind-the-camera experience, made her directing debut with "Paradise" (both 1991) which she adapted from Jean Loup Hubert's 1987 French film, "Le Grand Chemin."
