Noted for his college-type humor, director and producer Phil Dornfeld is best known for helming the 2011 comedy "Mardi Gras: Spring Break." Well before his full-length feature debut, he began building steam in the film industry as an assistant to the producers David Zucker and Gil Netter as they worked on the 2002 Joel Schumacher thriller "Phone Booth," starring Colin Farrell. Soon Dornfeld graduated to associate producer for the Hollywood comedy "My Boss's Daughter," starring Ashton Kutcher and Tara Reid, and the horror-spoof sequel "Scary Movie 3," the first installment in the series helmed by Zucker. For the latter film, Dornfeld also provided the voice of the vengeful undead character, Tabitha. In 2004, he unveiled his own project, a comedic short entitled "Spelling Bee," featuring actors from "Scary Movie 3," including Charlie Sheen and Anna Faris. Continuing to collaborate with Zucker, Dornfeld served as an associate producer again on "Scary Movie 4," and also worked as a second unit director on the comedy. Dornfeld's "Scary Movie" connections even popped up later in "Mardi Gras: Spring Break," with Regina Hall, an actress from the former franchise, appearing in the party-centric movie, along with Bret Harrison, Josh Gad, and celebrity Carmen Electra, who plays herself in the decadent comedy.
