A magical board game unleashes a world of adventure on siblings Peter (Bradley Pierce) and Judy Shepherd (Kirsten Dunst). While exploring an old mansion, the youngsters find a curious, jungle-themed game called Jumanji in the attic. When they start playing, they free Alan Parrish (Robin Williams), who's been stuck in the game's inner world for decades. If they win Jumanji, the kids can free Alan for good -- but that means braving giant bugs, ill-mannered monkeys and even stampeding rhinos!

Critics Consensus

A feast for the eyes with a somewhat malnourished plot, Jumanji is an underachieving adventure that still offers a decent amount of fun for the whole family.

Brian M this is a film that critics aren't a fan of, but most of the audience love. especially me since this is my 10th fav movie of all time. If anything the critics kinda disrespected this film. (don't take this in offense critics) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/04/25 Full Review Kevin L I give it a 4 star because back when it was 1995 the movie was a quite advanced. Actors tried hard to act and those animations and man-made special effects were unique. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/20/25 Full Review T P Blah, yuck, essentially. But much redeeming value in this outing. I'm not much of a Robin Williams fan, but this is his type of role I like least (dislike most?). Special effects for special effects sake is the absolutely WORST kind of special effects, and generally make a movie, even good ones, bad. Avatar comes to mind there. In a BIG way. Not recommended. The recent ones are MUCH, much better. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/31/24 Full Review Andrea S A cult. A must see. Quite old but gold. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/29/24 Full Review Stephen C LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/29/24 Full Review Cudalbu R A classic masterpice of the departed Robin Williams. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/23/24 Full Review Read all reviews
