Rick Groen Globe and Mail A mundane sitcom with feature pretensions, the kind where the comic 'situation' is simply a coat-rack for hanging a rag-tag assortment of inflated sight gags and telegraphed punch lines. Rated: 2/4 Apr 4, 2003 Full Review Jeff Strickler Minneapolis Star Tribune Spade serves as both star and co-writer of this lame, crass romantic comedy. Most of the jokes he's written fall flat, and his delivery isn't much better. Nov 6, 2002 Full Review Eric Harrison Los Angeles Times Nothing but a cynical, astonishingly inept attempt to copy Mary's formula. Rated: 1/5 Feb 14, 2001 Full Review Michael Dequina TheMovieReport.com A love story, but Spade is way too smug to appear the slightest bit sincere in his scenes with Marceau for it to work at all on that level. Jithin K A stupid romcom that feels like it's nothing more than a mediocre sitcom episode. So much can be said about what's wrong with this, from the writing, casting, etc but the singing bit at the end was the one thing that worked for me. It almost felt like an Indian movie if it didn't sound like the actor couldn't sing. And Sophie Marceau is nice to just look at the whole time, so it wasn't all bad, lol. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/16/24 Full Review christopher walter f Hilarious concept for the movie and it really fits into that early 2000s and late 90s rom-com genre amazingly well. The way that Spade and Lange played off of each other was right up with Spade's stuff he did with Chris Farley. The numerous instances of trying to hide the dog to get close to the female love interest were incredibly inventive and hilariously executed. One of my favorite movies Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member David Spade is funny but based on this rom-com I think David Spade is much more suited for SNL sketches and other various comedic supporting roles. Him trying to write an actual screenplay laced with his jokes results in films like ‘Lost & Found' Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the best and most overlooked romantic comedies of this generation. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review steve d Show Dogs is a funnier dog film... Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member classic romantic comedy. it has it's funny moments. screw the negative reviews!
