A girl who's sick of the social strictures of junior high is transformed into a grownup overnight. In this feel-good fairy tale, teenager Jenna (Christa B. Allen) wants a boyfriend, and when she's unable to find one, she fantasizes about being a well-adjusted adult. Suddenly, her secret desire becomes a reality, and she is transformed into a 30-year-old (Jennifer Garner). But adulthood, with its own set of male-female challenges, isn't as easy as it looks.

Peter Bradshaw Guardian A few laughs, but the premise is not developed with much comic flair. Mar 26, 2020 Full Review Keith Phipps AV Club Apart from the moment when Garner unselfconsciously flirts with a 13-year-old boy, the film is pretty much devoid of comic spark, and though it seems to have sweet intentions, it keeps sending mixed messages. Mar 26, 2020 Full Review Nell Minow Common Sense Media Touching and hilarious Jennifer Garner romcom. Rated: 4/5 Aug 26, 2010 Full Review Rachel LaBonte Screen Rant On top of its great premise and romance, 13 Going on 30 is a wonderful celebration of girlhood and staying true to yourself in the face of growing up. Alexander S 13 Going on 30 was a quintessential, charming, and invigorating romantic comedy from the 2000s, showcasing Jennifer Garner’s most iconic performance of her illustrious career. Grading: B+ Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/25 Full Review William B This movie is actually good. Nice comedy and cast. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/14/25 Full Review Maxwell C Ariana Grande’s “Thank U, Next” music video makes a lot more sense now. I cannot believe it took me this long to finally watch this movie. It is everything rom com should want to be AND it’s set in nyc AND the fashion is everything. Jennifer Garner is a national treasure. We always are focused on the future and never live in the present, and this film perfectly showcases that. The Vienna sequence made me BAWL. I can’t wait to watch this movie over and over and over again. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/13/25 Full Review Cork B Doesn't try to be what it is not. Yeah, it is overly sentimental, but it really does a great job with that whole 'Big' thing. Maybe Big did it better, but this has a soft spot for me. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/16/24 Full Review Dionisis T Couldn't love a romantic comedy so much like this one! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/28/24 Full Review Ishi A Definitely a feel-good movie! Must see! It never gets old. 👍👍 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/15/24 Full Review Read all reviews
