Josephine O'Neill Daily Telegraph (Australia) [Princess O'Rourke] proves that Olivia de Havilland can be the most delightful comedian -- and that all average films of World War II are startlingly out-of-date. Oct 3, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Steve D Predictable ridiculous and quite cute. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/29/23 Full Review ashley h Princess O'Rourke is an okay film. It is about a pilot who falls in love with a woman he believes is heading cross country to become a maid. Olivia de Havilland and Robert Cummings give decent performances. The screenplay is a little slow in places. Norman Krasna did an alright job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of the humor and romance. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Tom M Cute, harmless wartime comedy. Wyman and Carson are very good in support. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/08/21 Full Review Audience Member 1943 Academy Award Winner for Original Screenplay. can order a DVD from www.warnerarchive.com Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Lightweight, but likable romantic comedy about princess Olivia de Havilland visiting the US and falling for handsome pilot Robert Cummings instead of marrying the count her family wants her to marry. "Roman Holiday" borrowed quite a few elements from this film, though that film did it much better. Charles Coburn and Jane Wyman also appear in the film in supporting roles. Interesting bit of trivia around this film, de Havilland did not want to be in this film, feeling it was light and would limit her as an actress, and battled openly with the studio. She was suspended for a time, but did eventually fulfill her contract with the studio, though she later took Warner Bros to court and won, creating the de Havilland Law, which limits actor contracts with studios to seven year, since Warner Bros tried to extend her contract for the time she was suspended. This weakened the power of the studios and de Havilland was essentially blacklisted for two years, but later went on to better parts, eventually garnering Academy Awards. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member how Olivia played a princess here, really remind me of Audrey's "Roman Holiday" :) Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
