Ruth P Wow. A terrible cheap 1970's Harlequin Romance plot, poor dialog, poor set design even for the time, and Brolin and Seymour made it clear in every scene that they hated being in this production. My expectations were low and still weren't met. The only redemption is that everybody working the film got paid Union wages, so I guess this would be a good Labor Day film after several beers. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Honestly? This is such a bad movie. What in God's name, inspired it? Let's get this straight - This woman's sister passes away when she gives birth to a baby boy. The woman decides she'll just take that baby since she had a connection with him. So apparently now she is the 'mom'. All the while the grandmother is hiding the fact that the real mom had written a letter to the father, saying how much she missed and loved him, also confessing that they have a baby together. Any-who the 'mom' decides it's best if the father knows. Well slap my ass and call me Hannah Montana, the father ACTUALLY wants to see his son. So he goes out there to where they live to meet his son(of course he found out that the real mom had passed away 7 years ago...the son is 7 now.) Well, the 'mom' JUST CAN'T allow him to see HIS son. GOD FORBID he ACTUALLY wants to see HIS son. The fucking woman was having such a bitch fit because all he wanted was 2 hours a week WITH HIS SON. Well I guess it's just a big 'fuck you' to the guy for wanting to be in HIS SON'S life. That woman was telling him that he should just go away, then he decides he'll take it to court. She then gets a court thing saying that now he gets TWO unsupervised days a week with his son. THIS WOMAN JUST CAN'T ALLOW THAT. She acts like it's the fucking end of the world now. Throwing a pity party. WELL FUCK HER. I mean HE is the father. She isn't the kid's real mom, she never will be. Anyway, the kid wants them to get married. The judge pushes the idea more...because if they don't then it's split custody. The woman CAN'T allow the father to have him....Ooooh no. So they get married. Fall in love and all this bullshit. What a stupid ass movie! Unrealistic! The main character was so unlikable, I wanted to slap her across the face with a dead fish! This is why most fathers don't give a shit to see their children, who would when the fucking mom is being a stupid fucking bitch. This SUCKED! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Not completely unrealistic, but predictable to some extent. It reminds of more than one romance novel I have read. Overall, I loved it though because this is definitely my kind of story. Anyway, Jane Seymour did a fantastic job, as did James Brolin, very much worth watching.
