Audience Member Vinod Khanna stars as your typical bad tempered, rogue cop who is frustrated when the courts release two drug kingpins he arrested. He muses that maybe some crazy guy will take the law into his own hands. Sure enough, a guy dressed in black leather from head-to-foot and riding a motorcycle starts killing prominent criminals (no one can identify him because he's also wearing a black helmet). Is it our hero? Seems so at first ... but then not so much. At 2 1/2 hours, this film is stuffed to the gills with stuff. Our main guy is given a clumsy female partner who he falls in love with. A reporter friend of his is introduced, and this reporter has a girl pursuing him. And then there are the musical numbers. We could really learn this from the Indian film industry ... junky action flicks are always improved by adding elaborate musical numbers. One musical number is set in a nightclub where our vigilante guy stalks and kills a gangster while several characters react, and a woman sings a song about being a slut (I think), and everything is timed perfectly to the music. It's the best thing I've seen on film for quite a while. In the end, this plays like a second rate, overly sentimental "Dirty Harry" film, and it lasts a good half hour too long with multiple twists. Still, when it hits high points ... and a lot of the absurd action sequences set to the film's crazy score hit incredible high points ... it's amazing. Netflix has been adding a ton of Bollywood action films, and this is one of them. They are really worth a look. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Read all reviews
