Synopsis
In what is essentially a filmed play, Frank (Albert Finney) and Nora Elliot (Rachel Roberts) are a couple stuck in a deteriorating marriage. Filmed in three acts, the story begins with the pair still married but frequently bickering. It's obvious that there isn't much to salvage, and the second act sees Frank and Nora living separate lives under the same roof. The closing act is a sad reminiscence on love lost, as Frank now lives elsewhere, returning only to visit their children.
